2007 ARKANSAS STATE HIGHWAY MAPS AVAILABLE FROM AHTD


    LITTLE ROCK (6-12) The 2007 Arkansas State Highway Map is now available from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD), according to AHTD Director Dan Flowers.

     The maps may be obtained, at no charge, at any of the Highway Department’s District Headquarters and at all Arkansas Welcome Centers.  They are also available at the AHTD Central Office at 10324 Interstate 30 in Little Rock, by phone at 501-569-2444, or online at www.arkansashighways.com.  The mailing address is AHTD, Map Sales Section, P.O. Box 2261, Little Rock, AR 72203. 

     The 2007 highway map features the Interstate 40 Mississippi River Bridge in West Memphis on the front cover and includes messages from Governor Mike Beebe and the Arkansas State Highway Commission welcoming visitors to the state.  The map also incorporates 20 inset maps of Arkansas cities, a chart showing mileage between cities, and a directory of State Parks and Historic Memorials, National Park Sites, National Forest Recreation Areas and Corps of Engineers Parks.  It includes contact information for weather related and construction related road conditions and useful information about the Litter Violator Hotline and the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker.

     More than one million maps are expected to be distributed free of charge to the public.
