LITTLE ROCK (5-6)  

     The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold Design Public Hearings in Monette and Manila to discuss plans for improvements to Highway 18, according to AHTD officials.

     The meeting in Monette will be held on Monday, May 19^th, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Monette American Legion Building located at 209 East Drew Avenue . 

     The meeting in Manila will be held on Tuesday, May 20^th, 2008, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Manila Municipal Airport located at 855 Airport Road .

     The proposed plans will widen Highway 18 from two lanes to four or five lanes including new location sections north of Monette and southeast of Manila . 

      The public is invited to attend a design public hearing at the location and date that is most convenient for them to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.  Both hearings will be identical in content.  For more information, contact the Arkansas State Highway & Transportation Department’s Environmental Division at 501-569-2281.
