LITTLE ROCK (6-10) 

     The Ark ansas St ate Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Design Public Hearing in Alma to discuss plans for improvements to Highway 162, according to AHTD officials.

     The meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 17^th, 2008, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Alma High School , 101 East Main Street , in Alma .

     Plans call for constructing approximately one mile of Highway 162 in Alma on new location in order to reduce congestion and for providing a bridge over the Union Pacific railroad tracks.  Design plans for the new two-lane highway will be on display at the meeting.
