LITTLE ROCK (7-25) 

     The Ark ansas St ate Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a Public Involvement Meeting in Royal to discuss plans for improvements to Highway 270, according to AHTD officials.

     The meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 5th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Royal First Baptist Church , located at 7402 Albert Pike Road , in Royal.

     Plans call for adding four sections of passing lanes totaling 4.5 miles on Highway 270.  The proposed passing lanes would be constructed between Lake Hamilton and the Charlton Recreation Area.  Improvments would include two new eastbound passing lanes, one new westbound passing lane and extension of an existing westbound passing lane.
