MOTORISTS ON INTERSTATE 40 SHOULD EXPECT DELAYS IN WEST MEMPHIS

    LITTLE ROCK (7-24)

Motorist traveling on Interstate 40 in the West Memphis area should expect delays beginning July 28th and

continuing through the early morning hours of July 29th.

A contractor for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will stop traffic

on the Interstate for 30 minute intervals between the hours of 11:00 p.m. on the 28th and

5:00 a.m. on the 29th.  The delays are necessary so crews can install new overhead

message boards.

The stoppages will be located in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 near the Airport

Road exit.

Single lane closures will begin Monday night at 8:00 p.m. in this area to prepare for the

work even though the total traffic stoppage won’t begin until 11:00 p.m.
