NEWS EVENT NOTIFICATION

WHO:                         Arkansas Highway Commission Vice Chairman Carl Rosenbaum will join students of Forest Park Elementary School ( Little Rock ), members of the PTA and other local dignitaries.

WHAT:                       A news conference to celebrate national “Walk to School Day” and to recognize the “ Safe Route s to Schools” program at the school.

WHEN:                       Wednesday, October 8 at 1:15 pm.

WHERE:                    The event will take place at Forest Pa rk Elementary School located at 1600 N. Tyler St reet in Little Rock (one block south of Cantrell Road ).

 WHY:                        Safe Routes to Schools is a 100 percent federally-funded initiative of the Federal Highway Administration. In the first two years of the program, in Arkansas , the AHTD has awarded 50 projects totaling almost $4 million dollars. The Forest Park Elementary PTA grant - at $328,044 - is the single largest grant to date.
