AHTD TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING IN FORDYCE

    LITTLE ROCK (10-17)   

     The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a joint Location and Design Public Hearing with the Corps of Engineers in Fordyce to discuss plans for improvements to Highway 167, according to AHTD officials.

     Plans call for widening a four mile stretch of Highway 167 to four and five lanes, extending from Fordyce northward to Highway 273.  Construction in wetlands and streams will require a permit from the Corps of Engineers.

     The meeting will be held on Thursday, October 30th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Fordyce Civic Center , located at 300 Highway 79/Highway 167 Bypass, in Fordyce.

     The public is invited to visit anytime during the scheduled hours to view displays, ask questions and offer comments.  For more information, contact the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department’s Environmental Division at 501-569-2281.
