ROSENBAUM ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF HIGHWAY COMMISSION

    LITTLE ROCK (11-26)

Carl S. Rosenbaum of Little Rock was elected Chairman of the five-person Arkansas State Highway Commission at the Commission’s meeting on November 19th.  He has served the past two years as Vice Chairman.

Rosenbaum replaces Jonathan Barnett of Siloam Springs who relinquished the Chairmanship at a November 19th meeting.  The move is a Commission tradition that allows for the new Chairman to be in place early to help in preparing for the upcoming legislative session.  Barnett will continue to serve on the Commission until January of 2009.

Commissioner R. Madison Murphy of El Dorado was elected Vice Chairman.

Rosenbaum was appointed to the Commission in 2001 by Governor Mike Huckabee.  During his career, Rosenbaum has worked in various management and executive positions in the private sector.  He currently serves as the chairman of Safefoods Corporation in North Little Rock and Arkansas Glass Container Corporation in Jonesboro .  Rosenbaum’s previous experience in public service includes serving as a member of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, advisory council of the Arkansas Department of Human Services - Health Services, and the advisory council of the Eighth District Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis .
