NEW TRAFFIC SIGNAL IN CROSSETT TO BEGIN OPERATING THIS MONTH

LITTLE ROCK (3-6)

A newly constructed traffic signal, located on Highway 133 in Crossett, will be ready for normal operation soon, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

The new signal is located in Crossett on Highway 133, at the truck entrance to the Georgia - Pacific wood yard.

“Construction of the signal is complete and it is currently operating as a fla shing signal,” stated AHTD District Engineer James House.  Normal operation will begin sometime between March 16th and March 20th and we want motorists to be aware of the signal when normal operation begins.”

The new signal is part of a construction project that was awarded to Ideal Construction Company of Crossett in January of 2007.  The project widened Highway 133 to five lanes, extending from Highway 82 northward to the Highway 133 Spur.
